GRAY PRIMER

Here is the room with all of the prep work done and primed! It's taken some time with this room. I wanted the walls to be as nice as possible. And just when I thought I was finished, I decided the closet needed to be patched up as well since the doors are gone due to the doggy door!

Am I proud???? oh yes! I think I do pretty good work for a DIYER! :0)

The closet all nice and primed as well- ready for the orange now!
.

It felt so good seeing it all cleaned up- all the boo boos fixed- YES!

Wow- just look at the shelves- just waiting for some orange LOVE!

CAYENNE by Sherwin Williams

GLORY GLORY to the paint GODS!!!!! It's ORANGE with no doubt!

Decided to start in a corner of the room!!!

THEN above the doorway!

Just had to go around the window!!!!!!! And in the corner next to it too!

OOOH Peni Girl stopped in to say HI!

Into the closet I went next, and it was so AWESOME painting on the orange!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a 4" mini roller yesterday, but I couldn't stop myself from just brushing on the orange!

LOTS OF LOVE

Painted the ceiling last night!!!!! However- there were problems with the paint..... GARBAGE- globs of dried paint started going onto the ceiling :0( . My guess is that this deep base primer isn't used as much as the other bases that are used for lighter colors. Because I had to stop and wipe the garbage off- the paint started drying too fast. I have some spots that need sanding now because there are lines....... SIGH! And I suspect there are bits that I didn't get removed...... wow is this a labor of love or what?!!!!

The ceiling is breath-taking still. This is just one coat, and it looks beautiful. The gray primer helped a lot!

After rolling the ceiling, I got started on priming my new shelf! Now it's very rough from the grain of the wood rising, so after I sand the ceiling- I get to sand the shelf too! Wow- what a workout this room is turning out to be! :0)

Don't you just love this color!!!!!!! :0)

Getting CLOSER!

After the popcorn was all removed, I had to do a skim coat over the previous mudded areas....

Peni dropped in to see how I was doing and to say HI!

Next day- I decided to do a skim coat around the perimeter of the room where the tape was. I wanted to be sure that there wouldn't be any problems with the crown molding......

Mudding...... mudding..... mudding away!

Dry sanded all the seams - WOW what a mess- AGAIN!

All cleaned up- and ready to wipe down the ceiling with a sponge!

This is my sweet husband adding a shelf to the closet! After it was installed, we discovered the depth of the shelf made it weak in the middle. We're going to get another board, and glue it on top of this one to make it stronger! OOOOOOOH my goodness- please let this work!

At last- DRUM ROLE PLEASE!!!! Primer for the ceiling- can YOU BELIEVE it!

1/4 of the room done!!!! AND HEY- Did you notice my snazzy light!

And just like that- I'm done priming!

Now that the primer has been applied, I can see a few places that need some more mud- UGGGG! Soooo not quite out of the woods just yet - but I'm getting closer!

Blogging at last- Welcome to Huzee's Beads!

Hello and WELCOME to my BLOG!! I've been thinking on and off for some time now about doing a BLOG- and here it is at last! I hope you'll enjoy my posts and sometimes crazy moments as I take you on a ride into my crazy life of making beads and jewelry! Currently I have stopped production and discovery to get a new room in my house painted and designed for my clay studio! I've been posting pictures on my Facebook page, Huzee's Beads, but I've known- just been being lazy about it and that really all the explaining and pictures really belonged on a blog! Again- WELCOME WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First- let me introduce my ever faithful assistants! The little black dachshund to the left is Rozee AKA Button, Lady Bug, Noony, and many more. The one in the middle is Peni AKA Peni Monster, Penzee, and Pensters. The black guy to the right is indeed a boy! I put him in Rozee's coat because it is a joke around here that they are boyfriend and girlfriend..... I don't think he appreciated the pink and pokka dots though! His nicknames are Lizard Boy, Docee, and Docker- many more to really recall all of them at the moment. They all have so many loving sweet nicknames as they are the joy and contentment in our lives.

Here are some of the oranges that I tested for my studio color! These are all Sherwin Williams paints for those who may be curious of the brand. The one to the left is Raucous Orange- it was my first choice for awhile! The one to the right of it is Pennywise. It turned out to be too brown! Below it and to the right of Raucous Orange is Cayenne, which is what I have waiting in three gallons to go up on the walls, ceiling, and closet! It's going to be BRIGHT and FUN!

This past Sunday- I finally got started on removing the popcorn off of the ceiling! It was late in the afternoon, so I decided to go around the fan and wait til the next morning to take the fan down.

Wow- it looked so good with the fan down!!!!!

and even better with the popcorn all gone!

And here is where all the mess went- clean up time!
